Battery or Solar Power

Although structurally similar the key difference between Solar and Battery UniBlimp RC Blimps is in the main energy source. As their names suggest, UniBlimp batteries have only batteries as a source of energy, while solar ones have solar cells and batteries. The flight characteristics are completely the same and differ in flight autonomy. Battery UniBlimp have about 1 to 2 hours of flight autonomy while Solar UniBlimp have unlimited autonomy which practically means as long as there is enough sun.

A simple video example of how solar energy is used with UniBlimp RC Blimps. The brushless motor is 1100 kv with a 30 A ESC and 8 inch propeller.

7 m (Battery) RC Blimp

UniBlimp 7 m is our base model. It is designed for one to two hours of flight autonomy and able to carry GoPro with gimbal or other similar weight DJI or other camera solution. It has single front strong brushless motor, back reverse motor, Stabilisers with ailerons and bases for camera rig, batteries and electronics. Depending on your needs it can be delivered with Futaba, few miles range, or with DMD 20 km range. Autopilot is optional for this model/size.

7 m (Solar) RC Blimp

7m Solar RC Blimp our base model. It is designed for hours of flight autonomy and able to carry GoPro with gimbal or other similar weight DJI or other camera solution. It has single front strong brushless motor, back reverse motor, Stabilizers with ailerons and bases (Parallel point rail system) for camera rig, batteries and electronics. Depending on your needs it can be delivered with Futaba, few miles range, or with DMD 20 km range. Autopilot is optional for this model/size.

10 m (Solar) RC Blimp

10 m Solar is a single front engine Solar powered RC Blimp (Airship). Designed to fly until sufficient sunlight with especially designed intelligent power distributor. Able to carry Sony with gimbal or other similar weight cameras or other camera solution. It has a single front strong brushless motor, back reverse motors, Stabilizers with ailerons and bases for camera rig, batteries and electronics. Depending on your needs it can be delivered with Futaba, few miles range, or with DMD 20 km range. Autopilot is optional for this model/size.

Custom (Solar) RC Blimp

In recent years, we have done several custom UniBlimp RC Blimps. Usually the client has special needs in terms of the load he wants to lift with our UniBlimp. This is not a problem except that the production time is longer due to the custom design period. As an example, our latest work on the UniBlimp platform for WSAR.info. The client's intention is to fly over the Atlantic Ocean for the first time using a Blimp drone. You can see the graphics below.
